It’s not another World War II movie, but directors love wars, so this movie is about the Korean War. It is in Korean with subtitles, but the reading doesn’t take away from the emotion pouring from the two main characters; brothers torn away from each other who end up on opposite sides of the war. It is a long movie which follows these 2 boys from when they were innocent and free and takes you on their journey through a terrible war that destroyed their family and country. It is heart-wrenching and powerful, but it is especially nice to see the war portrayed from the Korean’s perspective since so many of the movies we watch take a solely American point of view. Look for it in the international section.
